When your little person comes into this world, they need their own identity and you then have the loveliest responsibility of choosing a name for them. Choosing a name is not that easy, do you go for a family, traditional name or something that is in fashion at the moment or something more unusual or even made up. Sometimes it takes longer than other times, because you cannot agree on a name, and without knowing your child, it is difficult to find a name through their character. Though there is no immediate hurry as you are given 6 weeks to make a decision, by law. If you are torn between a few names, then the child can always have more than one middle name. One word of warning though, always check the initials!

Also have in mind who, if anyone, you would like to involve in the ceremony. Anything is possible.

What to expect from me

If you would like me to do a naming ceremony for you child, then after you have contacted me and given me a date that I can do, I will meet up with you and ask what type of service you would like. This we will discuss on the day.

A naming service you can have anywhere you choose.

Once you have agreed to go with me as your celebrant and we have agreed a date, then I will ask you to sign a contract and pay the first 50% of the total cost.

There are many different options I will give you about the service and what sort of things you would like as parents. But happy to go with your imagination.

Once you have decided on what you want and I have taken some notes, I will then type it up for you and send you a copy. This is when you have a chance to add or delete anything that you want to change. I will then rewrite the amended version and all is set.

A naming service usual takes no more then 20 – 30 mins in all.

Adoptions

What about babies or children whom you have adopted. These little wonders need as much loving as any baby or child, they may not have been physically born to you, but you were able to choose them. How lucky are you and them. If they are young enough then you can still choose the name of the child, but if not, you can always choose a pet name (nick name) for them, to make them feel part of the family.

I can also do an adoption ceremony. Again, there are several choices of what type of service you would like to have and I am happy to talk this over with you. The only barriers are your imagination.

Also the good thing about an adoption ceremony is the fact that your child can take a much bigger part in this and again, that gives them more options.

What to expect from me

This works in exactly the same way as a naming ceremony above.
