Pet Burials

Stone outcrop with beach behind

From a very early age, our pets have always been a very big part of our lives and it is quite devastating for us when they die. Some people have even mentioned to me that they were more upset when their dog/cat died, than when a member of their human family died.

Our pets are there for us and love us unconditionally. We don’t have arguments or fall out with them and they know how to comfort us when we need it, without even saying a word!

They are someone we can chat to or let off steam to, about something that is troubling us and we know that they are listening to us. They are true friends and confidantes and you know they won’t tell anyone what you have been talking to them about.

So when they die, it is a devastating blow, and so often it is difficult to get closure. When a member of our family or a friend dies, we have that closure at the funeral or cremation and everyone comes together to pay their last respects.

It is particularly difficult if you have a child or children who are very attached to that pet, because the pet may have been there most if not the whole of their life so far, and for them they have never known life without their beloved pet. Thus, there is a big gaping hole for everyone when they come home from school or work and much harder for those that are at home most of the time.

We as a family, have always performed a little ceremony for whichever pet we buried in our garden. Though it is not always easy to bury animals, particularly if you do not have a garden. But there are places around that you can bury your pet’s body or ashes.

What I will do for you

When you contact me I will arrange to meet you and talk about your pet (a photo is always good to have handy). I will then write up all you have told me about them and perform a little service for them including any participation and input that you wish from the family, wherever you choose to bury them or scatter their ashes……..Contact me for more information.
